there are people with whom it takes effort to socialize. let's call them acquaintances. obviously, not everyone feels this way about my acquaintances, since the latter do have great friends who care about them. anyway, for me, it can be hard. so, whatever, you excuse yourself, right?
but what if your only opportunities to socialize with people you care about come when acquaintances are around?
ick.
