i'm reading a book called "mara and dann" which i bought yeeeeears ago because, well, it has my name in the title. the story takes place thousands of years from now in africa, when the next ice age has hit and there is little water around. reading this tale has three concurrent effects of me:
a) makes me constantly thirsty
b) confuses me - because i look outside and see cats, dogs, and lots of water falling from the sky . . . i'm not sure what's going on, since i tend to think i live in the world i'm reading about
c) inspires me to appreciate the rain we're having
i love water. always have, always will.
